We did moot court our 1L year, so I'm not sure how that difference will factor into the equation. I really think the bulk of my extra work came in toward the end of my 2L year though--if you snag an executive position on your journal be prepared for a lot of work. I hope it doesn't get too much tougher, although I understand that 2Ls generally have more to do (externships, journal, moot court, etc.) as opposed to us 1Ls who have to do nothing but attend lectures. They say first year is the worst, but I found that to be a lie. I've been much busier my 2L year.
